THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. MORE UPDATES TO FOLLOW.
Plunkett is excited to announce that More than a Pub is coming to The Antwerp Arms, Tottenham!
If you are exploring setting up a community pub, join us for a warm welcome at our free event taking place in The Antwerp Arms (known as ‘The Annie’ to its locals). You will learn about the support available to new community pub businesses and groups exploring community ownership of their pub. You’ll be especially inspired when you hear from committee members from the Antwerp Arms Association Limited, as well as a Plunkett adviser to steer you through the process.
The Antwerp Arms is the oldest working pub in N17, and is just a stone’s throw from White Hart Lane stadium which is home to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Opened in 2015, it is now poised to celebrate its 5th anniversary as a community-owned pub. It is a brilliant example of a pub which offers so much more to its community including – community lunches for the socially disadvantaged and isolated, hiring out meeting spaces to events and groups for free, as well as running music events and quiz nights. Not to mention the all important social gatherings to watch the Spurs matches!
The agenda will be suitable for early stage groups and will include:
- An overview of the More than A Pub programme and how your community can benefit.
- Inspiring stories, honest accounts, pub tour and Q&A with The Antwerp Arms, Tottenham.
- Meet a Plunkett Foundation Adviser who will talk you through setting up a community pub, the resources and support available.
- Networking opportunities
- Light refreshments
A limited number of travel bursaries of up to £120 per community group are available – please enquire prior to the event.
