Plunkett UK is one of ten Oxfordshire-based charities that will benefit from a Christmas party with a difference this year.

Raise’24 is a new festive fundraiser, organised by the B4 business network group.

It involves inspiring Oxfordshire businesses to form up to 75 teams that will raise at least £2,000 per team to support a group of amazing local charities in their work to achieve greater social impact for people in need.

The target is for a total of £150,000 to be raised and split amongst the participating charities.

For Plunkett, receiving this Christmas bonus means we will be able to help even more rural communities in Oxfordshire and across the UK in 2025 and beyond to save their local assets such as pubs and shops from the risk of permanent closure, and turn them into businesses which they own and run.

Community-owned businesses act as lifelines, bringing people together and reducing isolation and loneliness, as well as providing much-needed employment and training opportunities.

During the festive period businesses often go the extra mile to help those who are most vulnerable in the community with services such as Christmas home deliveries.

Raise’24 teams are being asked to raise funds in a variety of ways in the coming months, but the initiative will culminate in a very special event on Friday 13 December.

Held in the incredible surroundings of Keble College, Oxford, the day will start with breakfast in the Great Hall, followed by Christmas-themed entertainment including the Oxford Gospel Choir, before we ask teams to hit the phones and laptops to get donations in.

After all the hard work, the teams are invited to join us for a sumptuous three-course Christmas lunch followed by team awards and the all-important announcement of the grand total, wrapping up this uplifting event.

A collaborative fundraiser between different charities and businesses in Oxfordshire hasn’t happened before, and it’s set to be one full of joy and fun, and a feel-good celebration of what can be achieved by working together for good causes.
