For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller.

We are committed to protecting your privacy on-line. We appreciate that you do not want your personal information distributed indiscriminately and here we explain how we collect information, what we do with it and what controls you have.

To run the Site we use a number of trusted third-party services, which may receive limited information such as your IP address when you use the relevant part of the Site:

  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) – to understand how visitors use the Site. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner.
  • Metricool – website and social media statistics. Only loaded if you accept statistics cookies.
  • Google Maps – to display our interactive community business map and our location. Maps are only loaded once you accept the relevant cookies.
  • YouTube (Google) – to show embedded videos. Videos are only loaded once you accept the relevant cookies.
  • Mailchimp (Intuit) – to manage our eNews sign-ups and mailings.
  • Salesforce – to hold our membership records and run the Member Hub.
  • FormAssembly – to process membership application forms.
  • Eventbrite – to manage bookings for our events.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to our use of it;
