Grants & business advice are available now for East of England community businesses

We’re delighted to announce that the third phase of grants from the Denbury Plunkett Communities Scheme (formerly the Hopkins Plunkett Communities Scheme) are now open for community-run businesses in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridge and Essex.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available for existing community-run pubs, shops and businesses to help them through the winter months and to combat the difficulties experienced due to the pandemic.

Community-run businesses come in all shapes and sizes, including pubs, shops, post offices, hubs or farms and provide vital services to their community and the people that need them the most – the vulnerable, elderly, those feeling isolated, lonely or disadvantaged.

In addition to the grants, free advice, support and training is available from Plunkett’s business advisers and network of expert consultants to help businesses deal with issues ranging from cash flow, planning, recruitment, management and navigating government support schemes.

This funding forms part of £50,000 worth of support provided by East Anglian housebuilder Hopkins Homes to the Plunkett Foundation. It is the second year of the scheme following its success in helping more than 35 community-run, shops, pubs and businesses in East Anglia. Grants awarded in the last 12 months have been used for pub garden furniture, helping with insulation, shelving, providing chillers, volunteer thank you packs and mental health first aid training.

Grants will close 31st March 2022.
