We are very sorry to share the news that Nina Foskett, a much-loved Plunkett staff member, has died suddenly and unexpectedly, aged 51.
Nina passed away on 12 December and is survived by her husband and two teenage children. Her funeral was held on 16 January in Oxfordshire.
Nina joined Plunkett as an Engagement Officer in April 2023. Her role involved stakeholder development, fundraising and event organisation. During the 18 months she was part of the Plunkett team, Nina dedicated her time and energy to developing numerous relationships with people from community businesses, corporate partners, fellow fundraisers, and others who took an interest.
Prior to working for Plunkett, Nina was in various marketing and PR roles, both within consultancies and in-house. Whilst working as a parish administrator, Nina developed her interest in working for a charity and organising fundraising activities for the church community.
Nina’s interest in rural development and communities was cultivated during her Geography degree and living in the Oxfordshire countryside.
James Alcock, Plunkett UK’s Chief Executive, paid tribute to Nina: “We are deeply saddened by Nina’s death – it came as such a shock to the whole Plunkett team.
“Nina brought such energy and joy to Plunkett team life, and brought fun to social gatherings. She always made time to ask how colleagues were doing. She cared for us, and for the people in rural communities we are helping.
“She worked hard to cultivate relationships with our supporters and was always a smiling, welcoming face at our events, such as our charity auction held last October. I was grateful for Nina’s assistance in producing fundraising proposals, and we owe her a great deal in helping to grow support for Plunkett.
“Our thoughts are very much with her family and close friends, and, as a team, we shall remember her fondly.”
The team has made a donation to the British Heart Foundation and are deciding together the best way to honour Nina’s memory and her time at Plunkett.
