We are recruiting an Engagement Officer

Plunkett Foundation is a national charity with a vision for resilient, thriving and inclusive rural communities. To achieve this, we support people in rural areas to set up and run a wide range of businesses which are genuinely owned by local communities, whereby members have equal and democratic control. Today, we represent over 800 ‘community businesses’ in rural and urban areas throughout the UK, from shops and pubs through to woodlands, farms and fisheries. Our services help communities UK-wide to develop and safeguard assets and services which address a range of issues including isolation, loneliness, wellbeing, work and training.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and positive individual to help support and deliver our Engagement campaigns and activities to help us grow our supporter network and income to help resource our central advisory service for all community businesses.  The ideal candidate will have an interest in rural community businesses and be passionate about the role they can play in creating inclusive, innovative and impactful rural places. The role will be varied but will have as strong emphasis on administration, fundraising and customer service. You will work closely alongside our Engagement Manager as well as the wider team. Plunkett is excited about building broader and stronger supporter networks – from corporates partners to trusts and foundations, and from individuals to community businesses – and all the benefits that will bring to our beneficiaries. This role will also support the delivery of our national Awards campaign, which is a wonderful opportunity to share the inspirational success stories from the sector with our members, supporters, partners and the media.

We look forward to hearing from candidates that are excited by our work and confident about the impact they can make.
