We are recruiting a Project Support Officer

Plunkett Foundation is a national charity with a vision for resilient, thriving and inclusive rural communities. To achieve this, we support people in rural areas to set up and run a wide range of businesses that are genuinely owned by local communities, whereby members have equal and democratic control. Today, we represent over 800 ‘community businesses’ throughout the UK, from shops and pubs through to woodlands, farms and fisheries.

We are pleased to promote our vacant Project Support Officer position. This full-time position offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to join the Plunkett Foundation’s Community Business Team, playing a key role in developing and supporting community businesses across the UK.

The Project Support Officer will be one of the first points of contact for communities setting up or running a community-owned business looking to access advice and support from Plunkett.  As such, the role will involve a lot of interaction with community representatives by phone, email, social media and sometimes face-to-face. The job will involve allocating support directly to groups, as well administering panel meetings and contributing to Plunkett events and communications activities.

To be successful in the role, you will be enthusiastic about Plunkett’s vision for resilient, thriving and inclusive rural communities throughout the UK and the role of community-owned businesses in helping to achieve that. You will live up to our organisational values to be inspiring, accessible, dedicated, inclusive and collaborative. You will be a self-motivated individual who is confident in achieving ambitious targets. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate, and experience of customer service, dealing with people and developing good relationships will be important.

To apply for the role, please submit an up-to-date CV and covering letter of no more than 1 side of A4 outlining your suitability for the role. Please send your application to: hr@plunkett.co.uk

Closing date for applications: 9 am on Tuesday 31 January 2023

Interview date: Interviews will be held during the week commencing 6 February 2023 at the Plunkett Foundation’s offices in Oxfordshire or via video conference.

No agencies please.
